THE WANDERER'S LAMENT

"The Wanderer's Lament"

Tossed by the whims of fate,

I wander through the land,

A lonely soul, bereft of mates,

Struggling to understand.

The weight of sorrow on my back,

A burden hard to bear,

Each step I take, I hear the crack

Of dreams that once were there.

The sky above, a cloak of gray,

No sun to light my way,

The wind howls loud, the trees do sway,

In mournful song, I stay.

Still, there's a hope that keeps me on,

A light that guides my feet,

Through storm and void I trod upon,

Its warmth, my heart will beat.

For though the road is steep and long,

And filled with shrouding mist,

I know that I'll still hear the song,

That will my heart enlist.

So, I'll keep on moving forth,

With each step, my spirit light,

And though the land will spread its worth,

My soul will shine so bright.

For the journey we take, so long and hard,

Is meant to teach us all,

To keep the faith, to play the card,

And to rise after each fall.

Thus, my wanderer's heart beats free,

In search of something pure,

Surrounded by the mystery,

Of what's beyond the lure.

And when my journey comes to end,

In peace, I'll lay me down,

With gratitude, I'll then ascend,

And leave behind my crown..
